   The resulting stereotypes have no historical basis. Instead, the data and historical records present the opposite picture and also describe how the Chinese were masters of military science, from martial arts to military technology. On this occasion I would like to introduce you to the two Chinese military figures John lie tjeng tjoan and Gan Sing Liep.

A.Lie Tjeng Tjoan

    Born in 1911,John Lie Tjeng Tjoan is commonly called John known as jogja’s last and visible free skipper. It all began in June 1946, the chief general staff of admiral iii m. Pardi received a guest of a young man named John lie tjeng tjoan. While sailing in coramshar, John lie learned that Japan had surrendered and the republic of Indonesia had been proclaimed by soekarno-hatta. Full – fledged sailors around the world immediately wanted to return to their homeland, and once the opportunity was reached, he immediately applied to join the newly formed Indonesian navy.

To John lie, rank is unconcerned. He was eager to give the best for the republic of Indonesia, which was their main motivation at the time.    During 1946-1949 John lie carried out arms and logistics smuggling to defend the independence of the republic of Indonesia from the Netherlands.     John lie passed away at age 77 and was buried in the tomb of hero kalibata, Jakarta. In recognition of his services, the Indonesian government awarded the principal mahaputera star on November 10, 1995, and the mahaputra star adipradana and Indonesia’s national hero title on November 9, 2009. This placed John lie among the first Chinese descendants designated a national hero.

B. Gan Sing Liep

     Born in 1928, gan sing lie became one of the ethnic Chinese figures in the Indonesian air force in 1950. The war of independence was over and the government of the republic of Indonesia had received recognition of sovereignty from the Netherlands. It is time for this young country to build on a variety of fields, including defense issues. July 25, 1950, it was announced that Indonesia’s air force opened the door for young men as fliers.

B. Gan Sing Liep
